Martingale or Sighthound Leads

This loop on loop system is traditional to sighthound breeds. It prevents the dog from escaping by tightening up if the dog tries to back out. Another common name for this style is a "walking lead". The all-one-piece construction makes it very quick to get on and off your dog - no struggling with a clumsy snap. Hardware is attached by either a triple stitch or an extremely tight buttonhole stitch for maximum strength.

These gorgeous, designer martingale leads come in three widths and four sizes so you can find your perfect match. While most commonly used with sighthounds, they look great with almost any breed with a long, clean neck. The quick on and off over the head make them desirable for use in performance venues where a quick release is needed. The one inch size martingale lead has been popular with medium size dogs such as cocker spaniels and terriers.

Wide Martingale Leads

The neckpiece of this martingale lead is fully two inches wide is constructed of smooth nylon webbing. The tough, black Fastex 2" to 1" reducers which connect the neckpiece to the one inch wide five foot lead are used in mountaineering so you know they are very strong. The medium martingale lead adjusts from 11 inches to 15 inches - perfect for Whippets. The larger martingale lead adjusts from 13' inches to 17 inches and works well for most Greyhounds, Afghan Hounds, Salukis, Pharoah Hounds, Borzoi and Ibizan hounds. They also look great on any other breed with a long, smooth neck such as Boxers, Dobermans, Irish Setters, or Vizlas.

1" Martingale Leads

This style of martingale lead is one inch wide and constructed of smooth nylon webbing. Brass or silver "D" rings complement the trim and connect the one inch wide neckpiece to the 5/8 inch wide five foot lead. The medium martingale lead adjusts from 11 inches to 14 inches, just perfect for Whippets, Basenjis and any medium size dog such as a Cocker Spaniel and most terriers. The larger size works well for Greyhounds, Afghan Hounds, Salukis, Pharoah Hounds and Ibizan Hounds.

5/8" Martingale Leads

This martingale lead is 5/8ths of an inch wide on the neckpiece and is constructed of smooth nylon webbing. Brass or silver "D" rings complement the trim and connect the neckpiece to the 5/8 inch wide five foot lead. This collar small martingale lead fits a neck size from 7 to 10 inches and is sized for Italian Greyhounds, Whippet puppies and toy breed dogs. It also works well on any small breed with a clean neck such as Chinese Cresteds and Miniature Pinschers.
