Spring Fever de Sud Northwind's Stormin' Norma

Am/Can Ch Spring Fever de Sud x Am/Can Ch Northwind's Stormin' Norma CD, LCM, CGC, CAV

These photos were taken when four weeks old. The puppies were VERY uncooperative, so the photos are merely meant to show color and markings. For a pedigree, click here.

If you're wondering about the names, I always give them a temporary name until their new owner decides their permanent name. It also helps me and potential owners talk about the puppies - I just get mixed up calling them male one and two... Since the dam is Stormin' Norma, and we are Northwind, all the puppies are named for various winds found worldwide. Six girls, two boys. Ladies are shown first.

"Bali" - A strong east wind at the eastern end of Java.

She has asymmetrical face markings - dark brindle on the non show side and white on the show side. She is fawn brindle with tons of white - looks like she's wearing pants.

"Chinook" - A type of foehn wind. Refers to the warm downslope wind in the Rocky Mountains that may occur after an intense cold spell when the temp could rise by 20 to 40 degrees in a matter of minutes. Also known as the Snow Eater.

She has asymmetrical face markings with the dark brindle being on the show side. The non-show side is completely white except for some color on the ear. She is wearing brindle pants on the show side.

Head shot of puppy Maria Side photo of puppy Maria

"Maria" - A fictional wind popularized in "Paint Your Wagon" and by the Kingston Trio, whose name may have originated with the 1941 book "Storm" by George Stewart.

This is the typical marking that I get - white blaze on the face, full white neck and brindle covering most of the body. Four white feet, white chest and white tip of the tail. She looks very much like her mother. She is the most adventurous so far - first one to escape the whelping box.

"Sumatra" - A squall with violent thunder, lighting, and rain, which blows at night in the Malacca Straits, especially during the southwest monsoon. It is intensified by strong mountain breezes.

Other than the single spot on the top of her head and color on the right ear, she is white back to the shoulders. The rest of the body is dark fawn brindle, four white feet, white tip to the tail and white chest. The little spot of white on the hip will most likely disappear over time.

Head shot of puppy Williwaw Side view of puppy Williwaw

"Williwaw" - A sudden blast of wind descending from a mountainous coast to the sea, in the Strait of Magellan or the Aleutian Islands.

She has asymmetrical face markings - brindle on the show side. She has several patches of fawn brindle color on the body and color that starts to go down her tail, but there is a horizontal white line across it. Color again on the rear show side leg.

Head shot of puppy Zephyr Side view of puppy Zephyr

"Zephyr" - The ancient Greek name for the west wind, which generally is light and beneficial. A soft, gentle breeze.

She has a blaze on her face and more brindle that the others, limited to the body area. Legs and feet are white.

"Boreas" A ancient greek name for north winds blowing from the Hungarian basin into the Adriatic Sea.

He has asymmetrical face markings with white on the show side. Color on the show side ear and patches of fawn brindle on the body. He has a funny spot right at the top of the tail and he looks like he's partially wearing pants.

"Pampero" - A west or southwest wind in Southern Argentina. This wind (often violently) picks up during the passage of a cold front of an active low passing by.

He has color over one eye and just touching the other. A funny spot center of the top of his head and then all white except for wearing fawn brindle pants.
