Northwind's Dancing Partner, CDX, FCH
and Northwind's I'm So Spicy, CDX
"Fred" and "Ginger"
I met Irene Mullauer at our fall Goin' Up North Coursing Trial
in 1996 - she came out to the field to watch and approached me part
way through the day. She explained that she was interested in getting
a whippet for obedience. I flat out asked her why a whippet??? I
work my own dogs in obedience, but I don't think of them as a breed
for a person whose primary goal is obedience. Well, ten years later,
with two CDX's, two first places in the American Whippet Club Triathlon,
and multiple HITS, I stand corrected.
Freddie's most prestigious wins were taking first place in the
American Whippet Club National Specialty Triathlon in 2001and 2003.
No other dog has ever won it twice.

Ginger took the honors at the 2004 national specialty
by winning both High In Trial in the Regular classes and High in
Trial in the non-regular classes. No other dog has done that to
date.

Prior to completing their companion dog titles here
in the states, Irene took Fred and Ginger to Canada. It was a two
day, four trial weekend. They came home with eight qualifying scores,
all in the 190's and six placements in the four trials. One was
high scoring hound at each of the four trials.
