Ch Northwind's Cresta Run de Sud
These are photos taken at two weeks and none were
particularly cooperative. These are the biggest, fattest whippet
babies I have ever seen. When they lay on their stomachs, all relaxed,
they look like puppy puddles because they spread out to the sides.
They were born between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on March
17th. If you're wondering about the names, I always give them a
temporary name until their new owner decides their permanent name.
It also helps me and potential owners talk about the puppies - I
just get mixed up calling them male one and two. Since they were
born on St. Patrick's Day, the names are all Irish.

"Guiness" is a brindle male. He is Irish marked
- four white feet, white tip to the tail. He has a nice white
neck collar and a blaze on his face. His brindle pattern appears
to be rather open - he will most likely be colored similarly
to Willie and Cresta.
He was so uncooperative that we finally just let him sit
down in this "sphinx" pose.

"Connor" is a solid color male. He is very dark
right now, but I think he will lighten up and be fawn in color.
He has color on his head on the show side and white on the
non show side with a thumb print on the top of his head. White
collar, four white feet and white tip to the tail.

"McKenna" is a very dark Irish marked brindle.
Lovely white neck and shoulder markings on the show side,
white blaze on the face, four white feet and white tip to
the tail. She looks very much like Norma, perhaps even darker.

 |
"Gwendolyn" is a solid color - most likely fawn.
Like her brother, she is very dark now, but will lighten into
fawn. She has four white feet, a nice white collar on her
neck, four white feet and white tip to the tail. Just a little
white on the face. |
 |
Cresta is a very laid back, relaxed mother. She keeps them
clean, feeds them endless amounts of food, but isn't terribly
worried. She stays in the same room with them, but takes a break
now and then to catch a little nap. |
| As you can see, the puppies DON'T like being
stacked - Guiness is simply saying "don't wanna"
and you can't make me. |

 |
It almost looks like the two groups are
plotting - fawn puppies vs the brindle puppies.... |
|
| They certainly sleep in amazing positions
- this doesn't look in the least bit comfortable to me..... |
